thank you for all your kind words on yesterday's post!
(and, really, every post. you guys are really nice.)

needless to say, david and i are thrilled. we'd been hoping and praying for a little one for a long time and feel so, so lucky right now. we found out just after our third wedding anniversary and have pretty much been grinning ever since. i'm finishing up my first trimester and baby haynes should be here april 2012.

this first trimester has been really great for me; no throw-up, just a lot of fatigue and a lot of little meals. i keep joking about breakfast 1, breakfast 2...lunch 1, lunch 2...dinners 1, 2, and 3..i feel sick if i don't eat every couple hours. i also nap a lot. i'm starting to get some energy back, though (i think), and it's been great.

to wax spiritual on you for a moment (which i rarely do here):
this pregnancy has been a beautiful testament to our Heavenly Father's prefect timing. things would not have aligned as perfectly as they have had we gotten pregnant right when we wanted to, and we certainly wouldn't be this awestruck over every little new development. i'm so grateful for the three years we spent finishing school and learning to be a better husband and wife before we get to learn to be good parents. i can say with a certainty that i was never forgotten by my Heavenly Father--although i sometimes felt that way in those months when i wanted so badly to be pregnant and wasn't.

so...yep! i'm pregnant (though not prego or preggers, sorry)! it's hard to find the words to express how excited we are, especially when like 98% of bloggers are pregnant right now and everything i type feels clich├ęd. we are thrilled, though. we feel like the luckiest people in the world.
i'm not sure what that means for this here blog. i'll keep posting outfits as long as i keep getting dressed, but come spring you're definitely going to have to deal with some baby chub up in here.

  1. I must be in that 2% of non-pregnant bloggers. but wow! Great that you haven't been that sick! And that you are pregnant! So excited to watch your belly grow!

Congrats...that is super exciting, I'm very jealous - always thought we'd have a baby after our 3rd anniversary...we just passed our 4th and still no pitter patter!!! Can't wait to see how you dress your cute little baby...cardigans perhaps? haha

  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That's so exciting for you both!! I couldn't be happier for you! I tried to respond to an earlier post, but my computer wouldn't let me log in. I still read your blog fairly regularly, and I really appreciate your humor and your outlook on life! I wish I had gotten to know you in high school! Congratulations again!

oh, hey!

i think you're smart, pretty, and entitled to your own opinions.

i'd love it if the feeling was mutual!
