as you wish

boots: target; dress: vintage; cardi: nordstrom
i got this dress from a 50's-themed antique store in idaho falls...it's actually an apron. madness!
i can never decide if i look too much like a farm girl ("you can hit a few balls in those clothes." "she could be a farmer in those clothes..."), although i guess my childhood spent riding/showing horses and raising sheep would probably make farm-esque ensembles appropriate, even into my 20's. i will never be one of those effortlessly chic, modern, pulled-together ladies you see walking confidently down a city street. the method to my madness is to throw random stuff on, hope it works, blog it, then look back a few months later and cringe. i blog to live and learn!

  7. I absolutely love all the colors, the whole outfit is beautiful.
I love the concept of wearing an apron, but how does it work in the back? Do you wear a skirt or something under it or what?

  8. rachel, i got them at target, but last year. they've held up pretty well, even in ID winter! they don't have the exact same ones this year, but they do still have cute boots for a reasonable ($30-ish) price point.

lauren, i guess aprons in the 50's wrapped all the way around so they protected your whole outfit! or, at least, this one did :) it just wraps all the way around. sometimes i'll put a safety pin in (if i know i'll be, say, walking to campus) but for around the store it doesn't show any bum!
